Friendship is no doubt useful Friends help in our difficulties. Friends save us in our dangers. Friends give us timely advice. Friends guide when we are perplexed. Friends wish our good friends like us from the core of their hearts. We feel relieved when we tell our sorrow to a friend. A true friend is our asset. Friends share our sorrow and redouble our joy. When we are in pain and agony our friends soothe us.

Did you ever wonder what might happen tomorrow or in a couple of years? We can predict it but we can’t be admissible. We are human beings and prediction is the highest we can get. We are not some Astonishing Future machines. We are all considered ordinary people because if you will look at people that surround you, you probably wouldn’t see the difference between you and others.

Wrong assumptions mean “that people draw some conclusions too hastily, lack some crucial information, or mistake some uncertainties for certainties” (Mayfield, p.141). For example, my classmates classify me as the group of hard-working student, because I give them an impression that I often ask teachers questions and stay in library the whole day. My classmates classify me as the group and they just depend on shallow appearance to judge.

China exhibits many stark cultural differences, preferences, and orientations from the United States. According to Hofstede, China falls on the opposite side of the scale in power distance, individualism, and long-term orientation, which could potentially cause conflict with business. However, some similarities do arise concerning masculinity and uncertainty avoidance, which could create a common starting ground to understand one another’s cultures.

Socialism aims at a social system based on public ownership of the means of production (Von Mises, 1969). Arising in the late Eighteenth and early Nineteenth Century, socialism developed as a reaction to the hardships caused by capitalism and industrial revolution. The government owns and operates all material resources in a social system.

A million ways to describe beauty, causes contraversy. Everyone has there own opinion and no one is wrong. But beauty to me is a word that means more than one thing. Beauty is not only skin deep, to me it’s the world and all it has to offer. It’s the emotions, pain, struggle, courage, happiness, sadness, but most importantly the good that comes out of them.

The Epstein brothers created Casablanca, a romantic adventure, like no other of its time. There are few movies that are loved by men and women alike. Casablanca is one such movie. It successfully combines action, adventure, love and romance into a film loved by all. What makes this film a favorite of women? Lets take a closer look at the film and find out.

Philosophy was both serious and dangerous, Socrates chose to ignore both. Ignoring the first made him one of the most engaging of all philosophers, ignoring the second was to cost him his life. He was born in a middle class home in Athens, in 470 BCE. His parents were Phaenarete and Sophroniscus. His mother had a reputation for her patient and intuitive skill in delivering babies in and around the neighborhood. The latter, his father was a craftsman, stonecutter by trade.

Socrates was an interrogative man, who asked questions incessantly in order to find out if he was the smartest man, as the god Apollo had stated to him. He would ask questions that dealt with moral issues, such as how should a person live, and what is a good life.

‘Maestro’ is a book written by Peter Goldsworthy. The novel has many different contrasts within the text. Eduard Keller was highly regarded in Vienna as a fine pianist, so to be taught by him as Paul was, would be a great honour. Paul, who could be considered a relatively poor student, had to focus very hard to become the pianist he dreamed he was capable of becoming.

From the time we begin our schooling, we are told a certain statement. This statement is; “What goes around comes around.” The way it was always explained to us, is that be careful what you do in life because it could come back and bite you in the behind. After reading “Merit”, by Louis Pojman, this saying, rings even more true than before. Although his wording is more formal, he makes a very good argument as to why this saying is true.

Apparently, the killing of human beings whether people accept it or not, exists within our ever growing society. Obviously it's against the law, however does this make it wrong? The answer to this question is no. From a religious perspective killing another individual is wrong. For those who don't believe in God, killing is wrong as well because it takes away a person's autonomy.

The film, Dances with Wolves, staring Kevin Costner gives a historically accurate presentation of the Sioux Indians and their way of life. In this production, Lieutenant John Dunbar, played by Costner, is rewarded for his heroic actions in the Civil War by being offered an opportunity to see the American frontier before it is gone. Dunbar is assigned to an abandoned fort where his only friends are a lone wolf and his beloved horse, Cisco. After several weeks of waiting for more American troops, a Sioux Indian makes contact with Dunbar and reports this finding to his chief. This incident sets off a train of events that would forever change John Dunbar and the Sioux tribe he encounters.
